Taylor Swift And Harry Styles Reunited Thanks To Good Deeds

Taylor Swift and Harry Styles are back together, though its not a re-do of their short-lived relationship that brought the two young artists together again.

Instead, Taylor and Harry were atop the list of the most charitable stars of 2013. The list, compiled by DoSomething.org, tracks the charitable acts of celebrities in the past year. Taylor Swift ranked No. 1 on the list, boosted by a $100,000 gift to the Nashville Symphony on her 24th birthday.

Harry Styles and One Direction ranked No. 2 on the strength of several charitable acts. The band started 2013 by volunteering in Ghana and also participated in the U.K. charity Comic Relief.

Styles and fellow bandmate Liam Payne were particularly active, raising more than $800,000 for a London-based non-profit organization that supports cancer research.

“It’s pretty amazing that the top two spots on the list are held by celebrities under age 25,” Naomi Hirabayashi, CMO of DoSomething.org, said in a statement. “For the first time, 50 percent of the list is age 30 or younger. This rising generation is using their money and star power for good.”

For Taylor Swift, charitable efforts mean more than big-ticket donations. Over the last few years, the singer has been involved in a number of smaller efforts, including a benefit concert in 2011 for tornado victims.

Earlier this month, Taylor reached out to 8-year-old Laney Brown, who had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and given just days to live. Swift took some time from her busy schedule to call Laney through FaceTime,

Taylor Swift has been having a particularly good end to 2013. Shortly after being named No. 1 on the list of most charitable celebrities, she was also named 2013 Tennessean of the Year by The Tennessean newspaper.
