‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage dies in car accident
TMZ is reporting that professional wrestling great “Macho Man” Randy Savage has died in a car crash.
The 58-year-old WWF legend reportedly had a heart attack behind the wheel, and crashed into a tree:
TMZ spoke with Randy’s brother, Lanny Poffo, who tells us the wrestling legend suffered a heart attack while he was behind the wheel around 9:25 AM … and lost control of his vehicle…
Florida Highway Patrol tells TMZ … Savage was driving his 2009 Jeep Wrangler when he veered across a concrete median … through oncoming traffic … and “collided head-on with a tree.”
Savage was in the car with his wife of one year, Lynn. Randy and Lynn were both taken to Largo Medical Center, where Randy died of injuries sustained in the crash. Lynn was transferred to another hospital, where she was treated for “minor injuries.”
Police have said alcohol was not a factor in the accident, and the crash is currently under investigation.
