Lady Gaga Opens Up About Love And Depression

Lady Gaga had a lot to say about falling in love and overcoming her depression during her recent conversation with the folks at Fashion magazine.

The “Applause” singer has never been shy about discussing her struggles with depression. Mother Monster previously said in an interview that she smoked between 15 and 20 joints a day just to deal with feeling down all the time. It’s a problem she’s struggled with for years.

While chatting with Fashion, Lady Gaga said that pouring her heart and soul into Artpop helped her deal with depression in a healthier and more positive way.

She told the publication:

“I put all my pain into my work and as joyful as this album is, this joy and if you look at the album cover there’s an explosion of joy that is coming from a place of intense sadness that’s been in my heart since I was younger and this is why we understand each other because I was not born happy, naturally always joyful or believing in myself. I was born with a sad heart. I didn’t feel alive unless I was on a stage.”

However, their conversation didn’t strictly focus on the bad things in her life. Lady Gaga also discussed her relationship with actor Taylor Kinney. According to the singer, she “found love” with Kinney because he didn’t seem bothered by her success.

“When you meet someone that’s not intimidated by the amazing people that are around you [or] by the love that you receive — that’s love. Men weren’t always happy for me. It was very challenging to watch a woman be so successful,” Gaga explained.

Since the singer is preparing to spend quite a bit of time on the road in support of her latest album, rumors suggest that she purchased one of her life-size Japanese Gagadolls to keep Kinney company while she’s away.

“She’s splashed out £15,000 on a replica full-sized sex doll and is going to dress it in lingerie which he likes so he can enjoy it while she’s on tour next year — plus, an £1,800 spanker and a £6,000 diamond-encrusted leather whip,” an insider recently told Yahoo OMG.

The source continued, “She’s trying to persuade Taylor to attend a fetish party with her. She’s been boasting to her friends about her sexy surprises for him.”
