Evelyn Lozada Engaged to LA Dodgers’ Star Carl Crawford

Former Basketball Wives star Evelyn Lozada received the ultimate Christmas gift today – an engagement ring! This morning, Lozada’s beau, LA Dodgers’ star outfielder Carl Crawford popped the big question this morning, and she gladly she accepted.

Once the reality TV starlet came down from the emotional high, she took to the social networks to share the news with her million plus followers. She shared two pictures of the stunning rock on Instagram, and tweeted the announcement as well.

The pictures definitely speak volumes and its clear to see the ring isn’t just an average engagement ring. It was a jaw-dropping, custom 14.5 carat diamond ring.

According to TMZ, the ring is actually worth a staggering $1.4 million. The ring was designed by celebrity jeweler Jason Arasheben of Beverly Hills.

Arasheben has made a number of opulent pieces for notable celebrities, including Miami Heat star Dwayne Wade, who recently proposed to actress Gabrielle Union.

Lozada posted the first picture of her wearing the ring as she announced her engagement.

The second picture captured the stunning ring in its elegant box. Lozada also complimented the jeweler who designed the ring. The caption read, “Thank u so much @jasonofbh for this BEAUTIFUL DESIGN!!!! #HappiestGirlInTheWorld ???.”

Lozada also spoke briefly with People Magazine following the announcement of her engagement. She shared her sentiments and reaction to the proposal. “I’m overjoyed and in complete and utter shock!” Lozada said. “What a different year and a half it has been – I’m truly happy!” Lozada’s representative also weighed in saying she, “wasn’t expecting a proposal at all, and when Crawford got down on one knee it took Evelyn by surprise.”

Alot can definitely change in a year. In the summer of 2012, Lozada married NFL star Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson. However, less than three months later in September 2012, Lozada filed for divorce from Johnson, following a whirlwind domestic dispute where she was headbutted.

In September 2013, Lozada announced her departure from Basketball Wives. Then just last month, Lozada also announced to OMG! Insider that she was 6 months pregnant with Crawford’s child. Now, the two are engaged. It’s definitely safe to say the year has served as a positive turn.

Lozada and Crawford have been together a little more than a year, and are expecting their first child in the Spring of 2014.
