Kim Kardashian, Kanye West ‘Bound 2’ Video Spoofed Yet Again
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West must have realized when they shot their video for West’s “Bound 2” song earlier this year, they would become the objects of ridicule for a nation that loves to laugh derisively at the foibles of the rich and famous, even as it worships them.
The video, which was issued in both “clean” and “explicit” versions, depicts West and Kardashian pretending to ride a motorcycle across some sort of an open field or desert, depicted with what one supposes is a deliberately obvious fake backdrop.
Kardashian, who skyrocketed to national fame with a “leaked” sex tape in 2007, and who has posed nude in Playboy Magazine, appears apparently au naturel in the music video while mounted on the prop motorcycle with West. However, not much of her famously curvaceous figure is visible in the clip, which mostly obscures her form with shadow, and with West’s arms.
But the overwrought faux-eroticism of the video, in which the couple appears to simulate a sex act — though it’s sort of hard to tell what they’re doing — has set off a slew of parody videos.
The latest appeared on the Saturday Night Live Christmas show on Saturday, as part of the show’s recurring “Waking Up With Kimye” talk-show sketch, and the US Magazine website deemed it “hilarious.”
Check out how SNL ripped the couple, with humor of course, below.
Earlier, actors James Franco and Seth Rogen staged a shot-for-shot recreation of the absurd “Bound 2” video, which they titled “Bound 3.” Franco and Rogen have appeared together in the films Pineapple Express and This Is The End, as well as on the short-lived NBC comedy series Freaks and Geeks, which ran in 1999 and 2000.
That show was where the two stars first gained national recognition, even though the sitcom was cancelled after just one season.
In their parody video, Franco played Kanye West with an apparently nude Rogen emulating Kim Kardashian, complete with her attempts at seductive facial expressions and suggestive up-and-down body motions.
According to the reality-show star, her soon-to-be husband greatly enjoyed the parody as Pitchfork reported, despite his reputation for humorlessness when it comes to spoofs and criticism.
“You nailed it!!! Sooo funny!” Kardashian said to Rogen in a tweet. She later sent another tweet in which she told Rogen, “Kanye says what’s up! He loves u guys! He laughed so hard at this.”
