League Of Legends Snowdown Showdown Goes Live, Available Until January 2
The League of Legends Winter Showdown has gone live, giving players a chance to show off their battle skills against opponents in the Howling Abyss.
The “Snowdown Showdown” details came out this week on the official League of Legends website, where it also was announced that Mystery Gifting is returning. This allows summoners to send their friends a surprise gift, including a Mystery Skin for 409 RP or a random Mystery Champion for 520 RP.
League of Legends released the details of the winter Snowdown Showdown on its site:
Showdown is live! Queue up for 1v1 and 2v2 duels on Howling Abyss. With three ways to claim victory, it’s up to you to decide how you’ll defeat your opponents. You can score first blood (or two kills in 2v2 mode), waveclear your way to 100 CS, or demolish the enemy turret before they take down yours.
Showdown’s available from December 19 through January 2, so head to the Howling Abyss to show off your dueling skills and duo-ing prowess now!
The site also noted the rules for the Snowdown Showdown. Games will be payed in the Blind Draft game type, and each team has a chance to ban out three champions. After that the game moves to a Blind Pick phase, and after both teams lock in their picks the enemy picks will be revealed to each team. Players can then adjust runes, masteries, and summoner spells as they need before the match starts.
The League of Legends Snowdown Showdown could be a good lead-in for players looking forward to new developments from the game in 2014. Earlier this year screenshots believed to show a League of Legends card game were leaked when the Twitter account for the game’s creator was hacked. The game, called League of Legends: Supremacy, is expected to be released sometime later in 2014.
