Pizza Hut Unveils A Double Decker Pizza In Singapore For The Holidays

Pizza Hut recently unveiled its Double Decker Pizza in Singapore.

If you’ve ever downed an entire pizza by all yourself and said “I really wish that pie had another pie stacked right on top of it,” then you’re in luck. Assuming you live in Singapore, of course. Otherwise you’ll have to keep dreaming or, alternatively, order two pizzas and place them atop one another.

To celebrate the holidays — because nothing says Merry Christmas like a cheesy slice of pizza — the folks over at Pizza Hut Singapore decided to slap together something called the Double Decker. In addition to getting a regular pizza, hungry customers also receive a small pie directly on top of the other.

According to The Daily Meal, the Double Decker Pizza features a stuffed-crusted pizza covered with tasty chicken pepperoni as well as several red and green peppers. To top it off, Pizza Hut adds a second tortilla-style layer topped with zucchini, tomatoes, and turkey ham rolled with cheese.

Unfortunately for those of us who are seriously craving Pizza Hut’s Double Check freakshow and don’t live in Singapore, we’ll have to book a flight to the region this holiday season. Although recreating the dish at home wouldn’t require too much work, it doesn’t come close to picking up the phone and ordering one on the spur of a moment.

Brand Eating reports that the Double Decker Pizza runs around $20 and change for a 10 inch pie and $26 for a 13 inch pizza. The website also points out that the company offered something similar to folks living in Hong Kong back in the early 2000s. Not a wholly original idea, mind you, but tempting to try nonetheless.

This isn’t the first time Pizza Hut Singapore put together something a little different for the holiday season. Last year, the company rolled out the Double Sensation, a pizza that came with mozzarella, parmesan, and cheddar cheese stuffed right into the outer ring of crust.

Meanwhile, the inner ring featured chicken sausage and even more cheese. To sweeten the deal, there was yet another pizza nestled into the center of the first one.

Here’s how Brand Eating described the second pizza:

“The inner pizza features smoked chicken and zucchini on an pepper Alfredo sauce and the outer ring is topped with turkey ham, bell peppers, and mushrooms, on a salsa sauce. And, for some odd reason, the pizza is finished with a single cherry in the center.”
