John Mayer and Katy Perry Debut ‘Who You Love’ Video

Well, it looks like John Mayer and Katy Perry are for keeps. The two debuted their music video “Who You Love” this morning on Good Morning America. It’s a rare look at the couple all loved up as they have kept the majority of their relationship private.

Both had been in numerous public relationships in the past, and it seems like both Perry, 29, and Mayer, 36, suffered wounds from their past loves. This time around the two seem to be more cautious with each other. That was until they decided to record the song “Who You Love” for John Mayer’s album Paradise Valley.

The couple even released a photo shoot earlier in the month to support their new duet. This was the first time the two acknowledged their relationship aside from making quiet red carpet appearances at award shows.

As for the music video, it looks like both Mayer and Perry are getting comfortable showing their love for each other. The video for “Who You Love” has the two all but kissing as they gaze lovingly into each other’s eyes and sing to each other. For a video, it definitely shows a more intimate look into their relationship.

When Katy Perry and John Mayer aren’t lovingly singing to each other in the video, they’re trying their best to stay on a mechanical bull. In addition to the adorable shots of the couple, Mayer and Perry decided to feature real couples riding on the mechanical bull for their carefree video.

Before the launch of their music video, Mayer and Perry were live in the studio for an interview. Mayer pointed out that their interview may be a little awkward, “We don’t quite know what body language we’re supposed to be exhibiting at the moment. If you get too close it’s too touchy feely, and if you’re too far away they say, ‘I don’t see chemistry.'”

Of their appearance in the song and the music video, John Mayer said:

“If the song is great you’re in a bubble of authenticity. It’s a pretty big moving target to be a couple and have a song but I think there’s an authenticity to it when you hear it. This is the first time we put ourselves out there for the music.”

Currently John Mayer just ended his tour, and Katy Perry will be starting hers in May.
