Demi Lovato Speaks To Recovery Group, Selena Gomez Tags Along
Demi Lovato recently visited a rehab center to speak to a recovery group. According to reports, her good friend Selena Gomez tagged along for the ride.
If you’ve spent your days and nights wondering if Lovato and Gomez are still friends following the former Sonny with a Chance star’s stint in rehab, then you can finally rest easy. The folks over at TMZ report that Justin Bieber’s former flame gave her friend some emotional support during her chat with the recovery group.
The website reports that Demi Lovato recounted her struggles with eating disorders and cutting during her visit to the rehabilitation facility. Lovato reportedly told those in attendance that she credits Selena Gomez with helping her make it through the process.
The Huffington Post reported earlier this year that Lovato and Gomez didn’t speak to one another for close to three years. However, the pair recently decided to put their differences aside to rebuild their friendship. According to the X Factor judge, they’ve definitely been through a lot.
“We’ve had periods of times where we grew apart and we just didn’t really talk. Now we are in a place where I think we realized that life is so short and that when you have people in your life that love you so much then, you should just always be around them,” Lovato told MTV News last May.
The Camp Rock star added, “She’s going to be a big sister, and I want to be around for that. Everything about her… she has a great soul, she’s talented, she’s beautiful, and she will always be really, really close to my heart.”
The 21-year-old singer used all of her experiences to pen the book Staying Strong: 365 Days a Year, a tome she reportedly had a very difficult time putting together. Since she didn’t use ghost writers, Demi Lovato had to revisit several painful memories during the creative process. She also had to find the time to sit down and write.
“A lot of people don’t really write their own books [they have ghost writers], which is probably something that anybody who’s not a natural author really needs. But this [writing my book] was really easy because it wasn’t a memoir,” she recently told Celebuzz.
Speaking of the memoir, The Inquisitr previously reported that Lovato plans to put together a tell-all in the very near future. If everything goes according to plan, the singer hopes to have the book ready to roll at some point next year.
Are you glad that Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez are still friends?
