Amy Adams Talks On Screen Kiss With Jennifer Lawrence In ‘American Hustle’

Amy Adams is talking about her experience filming American Hustle, the sexy outfits she had to wear, and her on screen kiss with Jennifer Lawrence.

David O. Russell (Silver Linnings Playbook) directs the story, based on FBI ABSCAM operation in the late 70s, about con artists Irving Rosenfeld (Christian Bale) and his seductive British partner Sydney Prosser (Amy Adams) who are forced to work for wild FBI agent Richie DiMaso (Bradley Cooper) as he pushes them into the Jersey mob world.

Joining Amy Adams is America’s darling, Jennifer Lawrence, who plays Rosenfeld’s unpredictable wife Rosayln and Jeremy Jenner, in the role of Carmine Polito, who is a politician caught between the con artists and the FBI.

Talking to Entertainmentwise about her on screen kiss with Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Adams described it as “emotional.”

“Well, I feel like Jennifer really made that contribution. I came up with the idea, but she executed it in a way that felt driven purely from character.”

“It didn’t just feel like a moment where two girls are going to kiss on screen – it felt emotional. And the laugh she gives after? That was genius.”

For Jennifer Lawrence, who is fast becoming one of the most popular actresses in the world, remembers setting up the scene following O’Russell’s direction.

“We were going to go over the script before we started shooting and David said he had a vision of Rosalyn wearing yellow cleaning gloves and running through the entire house singing ‘Live and Let Die.'”

“I said, ‘hat sounds incredible (…) how’s it going to make sense?’ I’m so stupid with these things and like, ‘I’ll dance, I’ll sing, whatever.'”

One of the most interesting things about American Hustle, aside from the top notch cast, is to see the costumes they had to work with, to bring to life this story set in the 70s. The wigs and period clothes make the characters as much as the acting skills do.

So how does Amy Adams feel about wearing those very revealing outfits to play her part as the seductive partner of Christian Bale?

“I would not wear most of those clothes in real life,” she shared with E! News “There’s just not enough double-sided tape to take me through my life as a mom with those V-necks.”

Amy Adams, who has a three-year-old daughter with her fiance Darren LeGallo, said she had a blast making American Hustle and playing a character that was empowered by wearing those clothes.
