Shaun Weiss, the actor who played Goldberg the Goalie in The Mighty Ducks film franchise, has been accused of abusing his ex-girlfriend, who has alleged that he tried to “ pee ” on her, as well as “punching her in the face.”
Sonja Dimitrievska has now sought a restraining order against the 35-year-old actor, claiming that she suffered years of physical and mental abuse throughout their two-year relationship. Legal documents have now been filed against Weiss by Dimitrievska.
TMZ have now got hold of these files, and they’ve divulged details on one specific incident that began when Weiss returned home drunk from work back in April. According to TMZ Weiss “threatened to kill her and pull her eyes out,” during the saga.
The publication then added, “Sonja says she left for a few hours to let him cool off, but claims Goldberg was in her bed holding a machete when she returned home – and proceeded to sock her in the face.
The gossip site continued, “Sonja says she ran away to hide in a nearby bedroom… but Goldberg broke the door down and tried peeing on her while saying ‘this is all you’re worth.’”
It’s then believed that Weiss had the audacity to call the police on her, who arrested Dimitrievska instead. Dimitrievska’s original request for a temporary restraining order against Weiss has been denied, but a new hearing date has been set for December 17, and the judge has ordered the couple to appear in court next week to discuss the matter before him.
Weiss starred in 1992’s The Mighty Ducks , as well as its two sequels, 1994’s D2: The Mighty Ducks , and 1996’s D3: The Mighty Ducks. Weiss played the rotund goalkeeper, Greg Goldberg, and he was just 14-years-old when the original movie was released into cinemas.
Weiss has since appeared in 2008’s Drillbit Taylor, as well as making appearances in Freaks and Geeks, The King Of Queens and Crossing Jordan. In a move that has now come back to haunt him, he also made his acting debut in the role of Elvis for 3 episodes of the serendipitously named Pee-wee’s Playhouse.
Other members of The Mighty Ducks’ cast included Emilio Estevez, who has since forged a commendable directing career, Fringe actor Joshua Jackson, Lane Smith who is most famous for starring as the editor of The Daily Planet in Lois and Clark , and Peter Mark, who was the original voice of Arnold on the Nickelodeon cartoon, Hey! Arnold.
