South Park: The Stick of Truth apparently features a lot of farting.
Although the long-awaited RPG was previously scheduled to arrive this holiday season, the game was ultimately pushed back once again. Unless the games gets delayed yet again, anxious players can finally try out the title when it hits retail shelves next March.
To keep everyone excited about The Stick of Truth , the folks at Ubisoft debuted another trailer for the game at 2013 Spike VGX. Check out the latest fart-filled clip below.
If you’ve seen any episode of South Park , then you should know the sort of humor you’ll get with The Stick of Truth . Since Trey Parker and Matt Stone had a hand in crafting the RPG, the game seems to retain the show’s penchant for crude humor. In fact, one of the spells Cartman casts involves his farts.
The turn-based RPG allows players to carefully select the spells or weapons they want to use against their enemies. Judging from the new clip, the magic comes equipped with quick-time events (QTE) that determine the effectiveness of the attack in question.
The latest South Park: The Stick of Truth trailer showcases one of Cartman’s many abilities. This apparently includes a “spell” that allows him to fart into his hand and throw it towards the bad guys. The success of this power is directly tied into how well you execute the QTE.
Although The Stick of Truth will probably contain all sorts of crude spells and ridiculous situations, it’s clear that Trey Parker has a love for the genre. During his chat with Game Informer earlier this year, Parker revealed that Oblivion is his favorite RPG of all time.
He told the publication:
“I really loved RPGs growing up, and even now I really love them. We started kicking around the idea of a ‘South Park’ RPG even a long time ago when we did an episode about Lord of the Rings. I think since then we’ve talked about how cool a big, real RPG with the kids playing a game within the game could be. We had been kicking around the idea since then.”
Check out the official synopsis for the game:
“Players begin as the new kid in town facing a harrowing challenge: making friends. As you start your quest the children of South Park are embroiled in a citywide, live-action role-playing game, casting imaginary spells and swinging fake swords. Over time the simple children’s game escalates into a battle of good and evil that threatens to consume the world. Arm yourself with weapons of legend to defeat crabpeople, underpants gnomes, hippies and other forces of evil. Discover the lost Stick of Truth and earn your place at the side of Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny as their new friend. Succeed, and you shall be South Park’s savior, cementing your social status in South Park Elementary. Fail, and you will forever be known… as a loser.”
Fans can finally check out the South Park RPG on March 4, 2014. Here’s the latest trailer.
