Chris Brown Is Kind Of Like Jesus Christ, Says R. Kelly
Chris Brown is a lot like Jesus. According to R. Kelly, that is.
If you’re a fan of celebrities who say ridiculous things, then you’ll surely get a kick out of the “Trapped in the Closet” singer’s opinion of Brown. During a recent chat with the folks over at The Guardian, Kelly decided to share some thoughts about the guy. In his opinion, Brown and Jesus have a lot in common.
Although his opinion probably isn’t shared by the masses, R. Kelly seems to think Chris Brown has suffered in much the same way as Jesus Christ. Kelly also compared his fellow singer to Muhammad Ali and Martin Luther King. Chances are most folks probably won’t agree with these sentiments.
“I only feel sorry for weak people. And mostly what I’ve come to find is that the weak people are the ones that are the haters. The ones that’s talking about Chris Brown, or R. Kelly, or anybody that’s successful? I feel sorry for them, not Chris Brown, because he’s obviously one strong individual to be able to do what he’s done,” Kelly explained.
The singer added, “He got knocked down a little bit and he climbed up. You know, that sounds like [boxer Muhammad] Ali to me. That sounds like Martin Luther King to me. That sounds like a lot of the greats that have walked this earth. It even sounds a little bit like Jesus to me.”
Sensing that this controversial description could easily land him in all sorts of hot water from a number of individuals, R. Kelly decided to clarify his very strange remarks. Although he wasn’t necessarily saying he and Chris Brown are Jesus Christ, the singer said they share a lot of the same struggles.
Chris Brown wasn’t the only subject R. Kelly discussed during his recent interview with The Guardian. Kelly also took a moment to talk about R. Kelly. Because it’s just not an R. Kelly interview if the guy doesn’t talk about himself at one point or another.
In the singer’s humble opinion, his songwriting gift is not unlike martial arts — he has to master it. Kelly also compared his career to that of a superhero, insisting that he’s got it on a leash and knows how to walk it.
“It’s no different to being Spider-Man. He knows when to spray that web. He ain’t gonna spray it at some old lady, walking down the street with her groceries in her hand! He’s going to spray it at the guy who’s trying to take the purse off her. That’s what I’m like — I know what to do and when to do it,” Kelly explained.
Do you agree with R. Kelly that Chris Brown is a lot like Jesus Christ?
