Jen Arnold: ‘Little Couple’ Star Diagnosed With Rare Cancer

Jen Arnold, best known for her appearance in The Little Couple, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Although the cancer is rare, Arnold said it is treatable. The 39-year-old neonatologist appears in the TLC reality series with her husband Bill Klein, son Will, and daughter Zoey.

The couple became well-known with the 2009 debut of their reality program. Both Jen and Bill have dwarfism, and are less than 4 feet tall. The Little Couple began as a one-hour special highlighting the Arnold’s wedding.

The couple eventually settled in Houston, Texas, where Jen is employed at the Texas Children’s Hospital. The couple also owns Rockie & Maggie, a pet boutique named after the couple’s pet dogs.

The couple’s struggle with fertility was heartbreaking. However, they eventually made the decision to adopt. In March, Jen and Bill adopted 3-year-old Will, who is from China. Months later they adopted 19-month-old Zoey, who is from India. Like their new parents, both children have dwarfism.

In a statement on The Little People Facebook page, Jen Arnold said her diagnosis is devastating. However, her family is keeping her strong:

“… being surrounded by the love of my husband and our two beautiful children is actually in many ways giving me the strength to fight it even stronger.”

Although she did not disclose details about the cancer, Jen said she will be treated with surgery and chemotherapy. She said the cancer is quite rare but the doctors have given her a good prognosis.

Jen and Bill faced a lot of adversity throughout their lives. However, they have both displayed admirable strength. In an earlier interview with People, Jen explains how she and her husband cope with disappointment:

“For a lot of people, loss tears them apart… we are pretty tough people. I feel very lucky and fortunate to have the wonderful life I have. We are good at putting things in perspective because of our life experiences. I am not a person to give up when something is important.”

Through her appearance on The Little People, Jen Arnold has gained a large base of fans and supporters. As she struggles with her illness, she can count on the support of her friends, family, and fans.
