Keri Russell Separates From Husband
Keri Russell and her husband Shane Deary have separated after almost seven years of marriage.
“They have been separated since early summer,” Russell’s rep told People. “The separation is amicable and their focus is on their children.”
Russell and Deary married on Valentine’s Day 2007 in New York. They have two children together, son River Russell and daughter Willa Lou.
In a 2007 interview with TV Guide, the 37-year-old The Americans star said that Deary, a contractor, had some difficulty adjusting to being married to a celebrity.
“It’s definitely something to get used to. But I think it’s good that it makes him uncomfortable,” Russell said. “I think anyone who is too comfortable with all this stuff is strange. It’s normal that he’s uncomfortable. Like, if someone takes our picture on the street, I tell him, ‘Act however you want to act. It’s uncomfortable; you can look uncomfortable.'”
News of the split comes shortly after it was reported that Keri Russell awoke around 3 am Thursday morning to find burglars in her Brooklyn townhouse. Russell was unharmed, and police busted two burglars blocks away from the townhouse. The men were breaking into a nearby residence at the time, and were charged with criminal possession of stolen property and burglary. Police suspected the pair to be responsible for the break-in at Russell’s home as well.
Among Russell’s stolen belongings were a Mac laptop, a pair of earrings, a necklace, and a Filson handbag. Russell praised the officers who responded to the burglary, saying, “The New York City cops were awesome. They’re bringing my stuff back right now — when does that ever happen?! Everyone is fine. Thank you for your concern.”
Keri Russell was recently cast in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the sequel to 2011’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes. The film follows Caesar (Andy Serkis), who becomes the leader of a growing nation of genetically modified apes. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes also stars Gary Oldman, Jason Clarke, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and Judy Greer.
