Kate Moss Nude In Playboy 60th Anniversary Issue… Still Not Sexy Enough?

With Kate Moss nude in Playboy’s 60th anniversary issue , is anyone surprised? Well, some people are…

As previously reported by The Inquisitr , Johnny Depp and Kate used to date, but now they are back together for a music video .

Playboy director Jimmy Jellinek claims this year’s 60 anniversary celebratory edition needed to feature Kate Moss nude as a “testament” to the brand:

“Playboy’s anniversary edition is a testament to 60 years of beautiful women, discerning taste, sexual emancipation, ground breaking fiction and world-changing journalism. Having Kate Moss, a global icon and the most important supermodel of the past 25 years, appear on our cover makes this issue the perfect way to launch Playboy’s next 60 years.”

Kate is no stranger to nude modeling, but she’s also never been on the pages of Playboy magazine at all, which some might find surprising unto itself. Articles discussing the release of the new photos are saying they appear to be more “tasteful and beautiful” and not too much like porn, which seems like a change of pace for Playboy . But only four of the photos have been released, so it’s possible the insides of the magazine will feature explicit nudity in the 18 page spread.

The modeling world can be a cruel place. For example, Kate Upton was told she was too American looking to be a model . And The Gloss thinks it’s interesting how Moss was suddenly chosen for this 60th anniversary :

“At the height of Kate Moss’ fame, known for that old heroin chic beauty ideal, she’d never, ever be considered for Playboy . Now, after having a child and aging out of her trademark waifishness with bigger breasts and more exaggerated curves, she’s considered sexy enough to be in Playboy . But that’s not to say that Playboy should be held up as a paragon of inclusivity (check out the stats on the race of their centerfolds), it simply means that Playboy has a different, unattainable beauty standard than the one Moss used to be pigeonholed into.”
