Obamacare On Thanksgiving Day? Barackobama.com/health-care-holidays/ says the holidays are the perfect time to have “the talk” with your family about signing up for Obamacare.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Republicans are discussing Obamacare repeal options.

The site asks:

“Are your family members traveling home for the holidays? There are a few things they’ll need to sign up for health coverage. Make sure they bring the following items with them before they head home.”

Then gives a proposed “packing list”:

-Your Social Security Number

-Information about your employer and income, either a pay stub or a copy of your most recent W-2 tax form

-If you currently have health insurance, you’ll need your health insurance card or paperwork that includes a health policy number

Then urging you to “double check” if you have information on the following:

-Your budget: What is your budget? How much can you afford to pay each month for health coverage?

-Existing insurance: Is health insurance currently offered through your job?

-Current costs: If you do currently have coverage, what are your costs?

-Coverage Goals: What kind of coverage are you looking for? There are lots of options based on what you want and how much you want to pay.

The site then goes on to give viewers “tips” on bringing it up, you know, so it’s not “awkward”: Pick A Time. Start early: Don’t wait until the last minute—be sure to start the conversation early! Integrate the talk into family time: Take advantage of downtime after meals or between holiday activities to start your talk. It then urges you to “think about how to bring it up.” Make it personal: Be honest about your feelings and why this is important to you. Be persistent, but keep it positive: Tell them you care about their health, and focus on the benefits that come from knowing that you have health insurance.

Mike Huckabee is less than thrilled with President Obama’s idea of using the holidays as a platform for urging family to sign up for Obamacare:

“Has President Obama ever met an American? If he had, he’d realize how laughable his latest Obamacare promotion is. His website, BarackObama.com, is urging Americans to use Thanksgiving as an opportunity to press their relatives to sign up for Obamacare. The site even offers a handy to-do list. It includes telling your guests to bring along their Social Security numbers, pay stubs and W2 forms. They also suggest subtle ways to bring up the topic. My suggestion would be: “Hey, dad, the way you’re wolfin’ down the cobbler, do you have health insurance?” They even urge you to sign a pledge to Obama that you’ll do it for him. I predict that very few actual Americans will interrupt the football game or turkey dinner to try to sell insurance to their relatives. I also predict that anyone who does do that will soon NEED catastrophic health insurance.”

Mr. Huckabee later proclaimed his disgust of Washington’s behavior in general, with further railing against Obama’s idea:

“This past week has seen Washington, DC at its most disgraceful, disgusting and dysfunctional worst. The President continues to attempt to sell his wrecked used car called Obamacare and thinks Americans are dumb enough to be more likely to buy it if he throws in an AM radio on this clunker whose engine won’t start and which has no tires. And Senate Democrats brazenly invoked a power grab that they… railed against as un-American when Republicans were in charge of the Senate. They truly have no shame….or at least no memory or concern that their hypocrisy and duplicity have violated over 200 years of Senate tradition and rules. Like most Americans, I’m fed up with the total disconnect the political class in Washington has with the working class of the rest of America. DC makes the Toronto Mayor look perfectly normal.”

This is not the first time Obama has attempted to invade special events. In 2012 Obama’s campaign emailed:

“Got a birthday, anniversary, or wedding coming up? If so, let your friends know how important this election is to you, register with Obama 2012, and ask for a donation in lieu of a gift.”

The Obama administration did not meet sign up targets for October, so obviously this is what occurs when Obama’s goals are not met.
