Taylor Swift Wins Big At AMAs, Teases New ‘Red’ Follow-Up Album
Taylor Swift, as is becoming customary, won big at the American Music Awards on Sunday night, and in the process teased a follow-up to her successful album, Red.
For the third time, Swift’s fans voted her Artist of the Year, giving her a total of four trophies for the night.
Taylor Swift was a frequent name called up to the stage to receive her awards, and each time she looked shocked and excited about it.
Swift, who wore a sequin mini dress said after leaving the stage: “I’m really out of breath. I was really going hard with the ‘Wrecking Ball’ thing.”
“Red is very different than any album I’ve made before and the reason I was able to do that was because of the fans. I cannot believe what you’ve done in the last year. This album came out almost exactly a year ago and the fact that 6 million of you went out and bought it is crazy.” Taylor Swift said.
The 23-year-old also won country album of the year for Red and favorite female country and pop/rock artist.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, Taylor Swift shared about her awards:
“Winning Artist of the Year for the third time is kind of a little bit mind-numbingly unbelievable. It is a little bit hard to absorb all at once. It’s amazing, and the fact that it’s fan-voted makes it that much better. This year has been unreal for me with this album. I don’t expect things to do well, just by default, so for this to happen is just wonderful.
“I’m so obsessed with where it is right now because I think, for me, the goal is that we start coming upon a sound that’s different from everything that we’ve done before, an identity to a new record. Having come upon that so early in the process is just really thrilling,” she said. “I’ve got a lot of time to write more, but it’s really looking promising so far (…) It’s way ahead of schedule. So I’m really stoked for you to hear it.”

As is usual at awards ceremonies, Taylor Swift crossed paths with ex Harry Styles of the British boy band One Direction, but she handled it well even though he has been in the news for supposedly dating Kardashian clan member, Kendall Jenner.
According to some reports, Taylor Swift walked by Harry Styles a few times, but the former love birds did not speak to each other. She was there to enjoy her successful year.
