Mick Jagger to Become a Great-Grandfather, Preps for Australian Tour
Rolling Stones front runner, Mick Jagger has received incredible accolades throughout his career. From platinum albums, to sell-out tours around the world, the “Dancing in the Street” singer has reached career heights some wouldn’t dream of. However, there’s probably nothing that compares to his latest feat. What makes it even more special is that it’s absolutely priceless.
The legendary rock star’s daughter, notable designer Jade Jagger, spoke with The Sunday Times, and announced that her 21-year-old daughter, Assisi, is expecting her first child in the coming months. The British rocker is about to become a great-grandfather! “I think making Mick a grandfather obviously had a big impact whereas, now, making him a great-grandfather is no longer particularly fascinating,” said the singer’s daughter. “My dad has always been great at keeping the family together and having those important moments – Christmas parties, his birthday. We’ll be spending New Year’s Eve together, nearly all of us [in Mustique].” While the entire family is absolutely elated with great anticipation for the new addition, she also said she has no expectation of Jagger, 70, to slow down anytime soon, reported Hollywood Reporter. He still has stages to rock, and will be doing so early next year.
Jagger’s expecting grand-daughter, Assisi, also expressed her own anticipation and excitement for the new baby during an interview with Hello! Magazine back in September. She shared her sentiments of becoming a mother, and her grandfather’s humble reaction to the announcement. “He said, ‘Well done,” she told the publication.
She also shared glints of her loving relationship with her grandfather, and their lighthearted camaraderie. “I imagine it’s nice to be a great-granddad, although I’m not sure he likes the idea of getting old, or being called one. I call him Mick — I wouldn’t start calling him grandpa.” Her words definitely ring true, as Mick shows absolutely no signs of aging. The mover and shaker is actually about to hit the road next spring.
