Giada de Laurentiis suffered a nasty accident on live television during the broadcast of the annual Thanksgiving Live Special on the Food Network .
De Laurentiis along with chefs Bobby Flay, Ina Garten, and Alton Brown were preparing a fare fit for a king, when the mishap happened.
Giada was slicing a roll when her knife slipped cutting her badly.
A witness tells Radar Online exclusively:
“She seemed to go pale and got very quiet putting pressure on it and whispering to Ina that it was bad. She looked like she was about to faint.”
At that point the live show went to a commercial break and when the broadcast resumed, Alton Brown informed viewers that Giada de Laurentiis had gone to get medical attention.
However, the show was not interrupted and the star chef returned about 15 minutes later with a bandaged finger and sat at the table with the rest of the chefs to enjoy the delicious meal.
She explained to her colleagues and the viewers the cut had bled quite a bit, but with a cold compress and lots of pressure, the on-set medic had gotten it to stop.
Following the Thanksgiving Live Special the Food Network aired the show Hangout After The Show .
Giada de Laurentiis was a trooper as she took jokes from the other chefs as they discussed the food they had previously enjoyed.
The chef has become one of the most recognizable names on the Food Network , where she hosts her show Giada At Home .
She is also a contributor for NBC’s TODAY Show , where she makes regular appearances sharing tips on how to prepare special dishes.
