The gossip machine is currently churning out rumors that the “Unconditionally” singer is ready to have a baby. According to sources who claim to have inside information about the couple, Perry and Mayer are reportedly ready to have a child in the very near future.

Neither Katy Perry nor John Mayer have confirmed these baby rumors as of this writing. However, Entertainmentwise points out that certain people seem completely convinced that the couple is preparing to take their relationship to “another level.” Whether there’s any truth to these reports is presently unclear.

“Katy brought up the idea of having a baby a few weeks ago. He was really supportive and said he’d love her to be the mother of his child. Their inner circle say it won’t be long until there’s happy news. She’s already been taking precautions,” the individual said.

The insider added, “Extra safety measures were taken during her EMA act, where she was suspended in the air. She didn’t want to put her body under any strain.”

According to Contactmusic, Katy Perry’s friends are a little concerned that she’s getting too involved with someone who has a tendency to bed jump. In fact, they reportedly believe the “Roar” singer is moving a little fast in this relationship.

“Katy’s pals are concerned she’s too headstrong and won’t factor in John’s relationship history. But Katy says he’ll make a great dad and believes a baby would only strengthen their bond,” the insider explained.

If Katy Perry plans to have a baby, then the little bundle of joy will probably arrive after the singer wraps up a series of shows around the globe. The Inquisitr previously reported that Perry announced her upcoming Prism tour on Twitter earlier this week.

The Los Angeles Times explains that Katy Perry will kick things off in Belfast on May 7. Her stops also include a few nights at London’s O2 arena between May 27 and May 31. More dates should arrive very shortly.

“Don’t worry — more global tour dates coming soon! I can’t wait to get closer to all of you than ever before,” Perry told her fans and followers on Twitter.

Should you put any stock into these baby rumors right now? Probably not. Since the singer is getting ready to launch a world tour next year, getting pregnant would throw a very sizable wrench into those plans. That’s not to say a baby won’t arrive down the road, but it’s probably not wise to invest in these reports just yet.
