Sosie Bacon Is Miss Golden Globe 2014, Boasts Most Degrees of Kevin Bacon

Sosie Bacon has been named Miss Golden Globe 2014.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, it was discovered that Sosie’s parents, Kevin Bacon and Kyra Segwick, are actually distant cousins.

Golden Globe season celebrated it’s official kick off with the naming of Sosie Bacon as Miss Golden Globe 2014. As the daughter of Golden Globe winner Kevin Bacon, and since her parents are distantly related, Sosie can claim more degrees of Kevin Bacon than probably anyone else alive.

That said, each year’s winner is chosen by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The duties of Miss Golden Globe are to present the Golden Globes statues at the awards ceremony, and the honor usually goes to the daughter of big name celebs. For example, last year’s Miss Golden Globe was Francesca Eastwood, daughter of Clint Eastwood.

Sosie Bacon graciously accepted the spot:

I’m humbled that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association bestowed this honor on to me… I’m also grateful to my parents whose talent inspires me everyday but first and foremost who have been endlessly supportive and loving throughout my journey. I’m so proud to honor them as Miss Golden Globe.””

Sosie Bacon started acting at age 11, when she debuted in Loverboy in 2005. Both parent’s were involved in the movie with Kevin Bacon directing and Kyra Sedgwick in the role of the mother. Sosie also snagged a recurring role on Kyra’s show The Closer.

The Golden Globes will be presented Jan. 12 and will be hosted by “it girls” Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
