Demi Lovato: My Eating Disorder Is A “Life Long” Disease

After spending nearly three months in rehab for an eating disorder, Disney actress Demi Lovato has opened up about her food habits, calling her condition a “life-long disease.”

In a recent interview with Seventeen Magazine Lovato said of her eating disorder:

“There have been times when I definitely have been tempted to get rid of my dinner.”

Lovato went on to say:

“But I will deal with it for the rest of my life because it’s a life-long disease. I don’t think there’s going to be a day when I don’t think about food or my body, but I’m living with it, and I wish I could tell young girls to find their safe place and stay with it.”

Demi also talked about rumors that she had been cutting herself, rumors that stemmed from photos showing scars on the actors wrists in 2008. Lovato tells RadarOnline.com:

“It’s very crucial that you get your feelings out – but don’t ever inflict harm on your own body because your body is so sacred.” she goes on to add “If you are going through that dark period, go to your family and closest friends. Don’t put yourself in danger.”

Demi has recently said that making herself happy is now the top priority in her life…good for you Demi.
