‘Sons Of Anarchy’ Recoil: The Club Serves Up Just Desserts In ‘Aon Rud Persanta’ [SPOILERS]

Make no mistake, things were very personal in the latest episode of Sons of Anarchy.

The episode, entitled “Aon Rud Persanta” (which translates to “Nothing Personal”) saw Jax Teller and the Sons of Anarchy motorcycle club take some pretty drastic measures to get themselves out of the Irish gun business; if you haven’t seen the latest installment of Sons of Anarchy, get out now because the spoilers are coming hard and fast.

“Aon Rud Persanta” was pretty much Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter’s answer to the Red Wedding: big body count and buckets of blood from the big players. In this case, it’s pouring out of Irish king Galen O’Shea. Oh, and Clay Morrow too.

Oh, did we forget that part? Yeah, Clay is dead; the former Sons of Anarchy gavel-holder has been relegated to the past tense after Mr. Morrow’s meeting with Mr. Mayhem, all part of a turn of manipulations even he never could have pulled off.

Clay never could have seen it coming, although he was probably more surprised to see his escape from legal custody being engineered by Jax and the rest of the Sons of Anarchy MC. Bobby Elvis got a bit of a shocker during that bit of derring do: two bullets courtesy of a San Joaquin County Sheriff’s deputy in what was supposed to be (and almost was) a bloodless exchange of prisoner custody. The former Sons of Anarchy VP’s injuries provide another unexpected wrinkle, bringing Dr. Tara back to the front lines.

When the Sons of Anarchy reached their rally point with the Irish, Clay and Jax walk in to meet Galen with Chibs and Tig in tow. Pop, pop, pop. No more Irish problems for the Sons of Anarchy. The look on Clay’s face is priceless (does this come off as bloodthirsty?), and realization dawns on him of his own impending doom. But not before Nero and Gemma arrive with the Sons of Anarchy’s favorite field medic, Dr.Tara; they all get a chance to see Clay meet his end.

The great irony of the episode is Tara’s juxtaposition and parallels with Clay: they both thought they were out and they were both so close. But now Clay is in the ground and Tara is back to playing doctor for the MC. Although her small hand-holding exchange with Jax surely raised a few eyebrows, including those of the pres himself. As D.A. Patterson realizes she was double-crossed by the Sons of Anarchy, she puts the good doctor’s deal back on the table, once again pulling Tara between her sons and The Sons.

What will the next episode of Sons of Anarchy show us? As always, there’s only one way to find out.
