Daniel Day Lewis Has A Rapping Son And It’s The Worst Thing Ever
What happens when acting legends produce offspring? In some cases, they turn out to be white, privileged rappers who boast about being bipolar stoop kids with street cred. Actor Daniel Day Lewis’ son Gabe Day, has decided to enter into the entertainment industry. Day has no plans in follow his father’s footsteps. Instead, he has decided to start a career as a head-splitting rapper.
Gabe Day, the son of Daniel Day Lewis launched his official music video for his song titled “Green Auras” and it’s just as horrible as you think it might be. The video was shot on the campus of Sarah Lawrence College, which is where Day attends school, and apparently smokes a ton of weed at, as the song boasts. The video has a group of lingerers who follow Gabe around as he raps about his hard time of being an actor’s son.
The song is mostly about how it’s, like, really uncool to make assumptions about people based on those people having famous parents. In the song he raps, “Judgin’ someone for their dad is just as bad as being racist. Call me Gabe Day and not Gabe Day-Lewis, because if you’re trying to call me out I’m ’bout to Gabe Day-Lose-It!”
Unfortunately. we didn’t make those lyrics up. Fortunately it gives us a good base to “judge” the aspiring rapper’s skills. Though Gabe is still in college and this is probably some weird social experiment, we’re pretty sure the content itself allows a little pot shot here and there. If you have a lick of logic, it may be pretty hard to muster up remorse for a son whose dad won an Oscar for Lincoln, but that’s just our humble opinion.
Gabe Day isn’t the only son of an actor who is after the glory of being a rap star. Tom Hanks’ son Chet Haze was all the underground rage when he released a few songs in 2011. One of his songs sampled Wiz Khalifa’s “Black and Yellow” as he rapped about Northwestern college.
Who would win in this rap battle? Gabe Day or Chet Haze? You decide.
