New Batsuit Doesn’t Feature ‘A Single Nipple,’ Says Kevin Smith
The new Batsuit is sure to please fans of the Dark Knight, says filmmaker Kevin Smith.
Although the Clerks director didn’t give away any specific details about the costume designed for Zack Snyder’s Batman vs. Superman, Smith said the new Batsuit doesn’t feature a “single nipple.” This is good news for those who balked at director Joel Schumacher’s much-maligned Batman and Robin starring George Clooney.
According to Screen Rant, Kevin Smith discussed the new Batsuit during a recent podcast. According to the Chasing Amy mastermind, fans are going to love it.
Here’s an excerpt from Smith’s appearance on the Hollywood Babble-On podcast:
“I saw the Batman costume. More than that, I saw a picture of [Ben Affleck] in the costume…I don’t want to give anything away ’cause that is up to them and stuff, but I am going to say this…I instantly bear hugged [Snyder]. You have not seen this costume on film before. For a comic book fan, it was mind-bending… Because every other movie does this Matrix-y black armor thing…There wasn’t a single nipple on this suit. I think everyone is just gonna be like ‘Holy S**t!’ It’s its own thing. We haven’t been down this path before. Even the hardest core [most skeptical] person will be like ‘Alright, I’m ready.’…It seemed like it was very [Redacted] influenced.”
Smith’s chat about the new Batsuit isn’t the only slice of Batman vs. Superman-related info to come floating down the cinematic river in recent days. The Inquisitr previously reported that Girls star Adam Driver is in talks to play Nightwing in Snyder’s Man of Steel sequel.
Oblivion star Olga Kurylenko is also reportedly in the running for the role of Wonder Woman in the follow-up. However, nothing about the character’s involvement with Batman vs. Superman has Warner Bros. or Zack Snyder’s official stamp of approval as of this writing.
According to MTV News, there’s a possibility that Green Arrow and The Flash could appear in the sequel as well. Since Warner Bros. wants to put together a Justice League movie at some point down the road, the studio might start setting things up with Batman vs. Superman. Only time will tell with this one, folks.
Zack Snyder’s follow-up is currently scheduled to hit theaters on July 17, 2015. Ben Affleck will play Batman while Man of Steel star Henry Cavill will return as Superman.
