Oklahoma Firefighter Accused Of Raping 13-Year-Old Girl For Months

A 39-year-old Oklahoma City firefighter has been arrested and accused of raping and sodomizing a 13-year-old girl over a number of months.

Corporal Jason Lyle Wood is also accused of giving the girl a secret cell phone so that she could send nude pictures of herself to him.

Wood, who worked as a firefighter for three years, was arrested at a 911 dispatch center where he has worked for the last ten years.

The father of the victim contacted a Sheriff’s deputy in Oklahoma claiming his daughter had engaged in sexual acts with Wood since June.

The charges against Wood include rape, sodomy and lewd molestation of a minor.

Larry Rhodes, Sheriff at Garvin County, said about the case: “It’s just disturbing to find out of an alleged crime like this occurring in my county, especially when it crosses over multiple jurisdictions.”

Wood was clearly grooming the child as he gave her a cell phone in order to contact her without parents knowing. As well as instructing the girl to text him daily, he also requested her to send him nude pictures of herself.

Sheriff Rhodes said he was confident that the case against Wood would stick: “We do feel that the evidence we recovered will lead to possibly additional charges or corroborate the initial charges in this case,” he said.

The Fire Chief at the Oklahoma City Fire Department, Keith Bryant, said that his department is taking the allegations very seriously: “We’re going to cooperate with law enforcement and see where this goes. City policy dictates that we give the employee due process, but we will be meeting with (Wood) as soon as possible,” he told News 9.

It remains to be seen what punishment will be handed down to the Oklahoma firefighter accused of raping a 13-year-old, if he is found guilty.
