‘Jurassic World’ Adds Bryce Dallas Howard, Jason Schwartzman In Talks
Jurassic World casting rumors continue to heat up.
Although the world is still waiting for the film’s main protagonist, the studio seems to have found its leading lady. Bryce Dallas Howard recently confirmed that she will hunt dinosaurs in the next installment of the long-running franchise.
“They’re relaunching the Jurassic Park franchise, so I’ll be chasing dinosaurs. That’s going to happen next year,” the actress recently told the folks at USA Today.
Now that the whole planet knows Howard will help out with Jurassic World, all eyes are currently on Josh Brolin. Moviefone previously reports that the No Country For Old Men star is in talks with producers to sign on for the upcoming sequel.
However, his involvement with the next installment of the series is far from a done deal. Reports suggest that the actor is waiting for an official offer from the suits at Universal Pictures. It’s currently believed that Brolin is very interested in the part, so it could be only a matter of time before he’s on board.
Howard and Brolin aren’t the only ones circling Jurassic World at the moment. If internet rumors are correct — and most of the time they’re not — Rushmore and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World star Jason Schwartzman is also eyeing a role in the new Jurassic Park movie.
Here’s what Hypable has to say on the subject:
“After word reached our ears of Schwartzman’s potential involvement, we immediately contacted his publicists, who stated that they could not comment on the news. Let’s put this another way: They didn’t say ‘no.'”
That’s pretty far from a confirmation, but Schwartzman’s possible involvement is definitely exciting. It also suggests that Universal Pictures is pretty serious about getting a top-notch cast together for director Colin Trevorrow’s Jurassic World.
If the studio and the filmmaker are serious about getting the ball rolling early next year, then they’ll need to get the cast hammered out as soon as possible. Universal hopes to have the movie in the can and ready for the big screen by the summer of 2015. Fingers crossed that everything comes together in a timely fashion.
Although plot details are few and far between, many people think the story will center around a functional dinosaur park on Isla Nublar. This is where the events of the original flick took place. Not surprisingly, it doesn’t take very long for things to go haywire all over again.
Are you looking forward to director Colin Trevorrow’s Jurassic World?
