Chuck Shumer Endorses Hillary Clinton For President
It may only be 2013 but that didn’t stop U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer from endorsing Hillary Clinton for President in 2016.
Shucmer, the third-ranking Democrat in the Senate made his endorsement for Clinton during a speech on Saturday night t at an Iowa Democratic Party dinner. During the speech Schumer told those in attendance:
“Hillary’s experience is unrivaled and her vision is unparalleled. It’s time for a woman to be president. And so tonight, here in Iowa, and I won’t get this opportunity again, I am urging Hillary Clinton to run for president and, when she does, she will have my full and unwavering support.”
Schumer furthered his praise with the following: “With Clinton the party can vanquish the Ted Cruz, tea party Republicans in 2016.”
Hillary Clinton’s office couldn’t be happier to have Schumer’s support, following his speech the following response was sent to members of the media:
“Senator Schumer is an old colleague and an even older friend, and what he said about her is very flattering. Ultimately though this is a very personal decision that she hasn’t made.”
A recent set of polls have shown that Hillary Clinton is still considered the fan and party favorite for the US Presidency in 2016. However, Hillary Clinton has said repeatedly that she is not rushing into such an important and delicate decision. Clinton recently told New York magazine, “I’m not in any hurry. I think it’s a serious decision, not to be made lightly, but it’s also not one that has to be made soon.”
The fight for the U.S. Presidency will soon heat up as candidates attempt to raise the numbers of millions of dollars needed to compete on the national stage.
Do you think Hillary Clinton is the right choice to lead the Democrats to another victory in 2016? Who is your favorite for the job?
