Jonas Brothers Say Split Was ‘For The Best’ [Video]
Jonas Brothers recently decided to call it quits. Although fans of the group are no doubt upset about the breakup, the guys said that this was essentially “for the best.”
During their chat with Good Morning America on Wednesday, the 20-somethings discussed why they decided to stop making music together after releasing four studio albums. According to the Jonas Brothers, it was younger brother Nick who decided the fellas should seriously consider going their separate ways.
The 21-year-old explained:
“We’re family first and that’s always been our main priority and so honestly within what we do as a group was really important. I came to the table with the guys… and shared my heart with them and my feelings. I said, ‘Look, I feel like we’ve had some complications within the group for a long time [and] without addressing them I think this train will fall off the tracks.'”
According to the New York Daily News, the problems the Jonas Brothers faced ultimately forced them to cancel several shows of their upcoming tour. After eight years of performing as a group, the trio are reportedly ready to begin working on solo projects.
“It was just individual things that we were just butting heads about, whether it was the way to set up the music or even just personal opportunities. At some point we decided it was best to finish this and support each other on our own ventures,” Joe Jonas said.
News of the Jonas Brothers breakup first arrived courtesy of People magazine.
“It’s really hard to say ‘forever.’ We’re closing a chapter, for sure. I was feeling kind of trapped. I needed to share my heart with my brothers,” Nick Jonas told the publication.
Fans were all prepared to check out the Jonas Brothers tour when the guys decided to cancel the scheduled dates over “creative differences.” A source explained that the brothers couldn’t agree on the direction of the group, which reportedly led to a very heated argument.
