PS4 Release Date Set To Hit With These Games

[UPDATE: 10/31] DC Universe Online has been added to the list.

The PS4 release date is just over two weeks away, and we have a list of the games which will be available either at launch or soon after.

The list of games available at launch for the PlayStation 4 has changed a bit since the last time we posted it, with Ubisoft pulling a couple of their killer IPs off the list assumingly to avoid clashing with their own Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and other big releases like Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, and Batman: Arkham Origins. Their official statement was that they wanted to make sure Watch Dogs and The Crew received the additional polish they demand from their games, but that hasn’t resulted in any of their other known games being delayed.

Angry Birds Star Wars is also joining the PS4 release date game list, as previously reported by The Inquisitr, joining its predecessors in a recent bid to take over the consoles.

The games being included in the PS4 launch lineup are:

• Angry Birds Star Wars is the classic Angry Birds which builds on Space, adding a Star Wars element to it all. You knew that, though.
• Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag follows the pirate adventures of Edward Kenway, a British privateer who leaves him home to gain riches and glory. Along the way he becomes ensnared in the war between the Assassins and the Templars.
• Battlefield 4 is a full-featured multiplayer war game with dynamic environments. This could be one of the most exciting games accompanying the PS4 release date launch lineup.

• Call of Duty: Ghosts is the latest in the bestselling Call of Duty series which features a dog and the ability to play as a woman.
• Contrast is a light-based 3D platformer with a detective who can flatten herself and travel between shadows.
• FIFA 14 is this year’s take on Electronic Arts’ soccer series (football outside the US).
• Flower is less of a video game than it is simply an emotional experience for more casual gamers. This is one of the most different parts of the PS4 release date launch lineup.
• Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition is the DC Comics fighting game with all of the DLC included, where you can prove once and for all who can beat who in a fight.

• Just Dance 2014 is the latest in the series of dance titles meant to test your skills. It’s perfect for parties.
• Killzone: Shadow Fall is a futuristic first person shooter which takes place 30 years after Killzone 3. A civil war is about to happen in spite of a wall separating the two sides.
• Knack is a quirky sort of puzzle game about a robot made of runes which can absorb various other rocks and then use them to grow.
• Lego Marvel Super Heroes is Marvel’s adventure title featuring a whole plethora of your favorite superheroes, mutants, and others in the comical stylings of LEGO.

• Madden NFL 25 is the latest in the long-running US version of football titles.
• NBA 2K14 is Electronic Arts’ latest basketball title.
• Pinball Arcade is a simulated version of the real thing, almost ironically bringing the pre-video game era to the next generation consoles. This could be a nice gift for that casual gamer on your list if they’re getting their next gen Sony console on the PS4 release date.
• Resogun is an old-school style side-scrolling shooter game which might bring a taste of nostalgia to older gamers.
• Skylanders Swap Force is a game based on figurines which you place on a platform and then load into the video game for various kinds of fun.
• Sound Shapes is a music-based side-scrolling platformer where the gamer places notes of various instruments along the path.
• Super Motherload is a role-playing puzzle title from XGen Studios.
• Tiny Brains is a puzzle game about which not much is known.

These 20 games are certainly a drop from the previous list of confirmed titles being launched on the PS4 release date. Which one are you most excited about?
