Chris Brown’s charges have been reduced from a felony, and he is now facing only a misdemeanor.
As previously reported by The Inquisitr , Chris Brown was involved in a fight in Washington, D.C . and was originally charged with felony assault.
Police saw Chris Brown arrested and slapped with felony charges for his alleged assault of a man outside a hotel in Washington D.C., in which the man’s nose was broken. Now he’s only got to contend with a misdemeanor charge as well as a restraining order in which he must stay 100 yards away from the victim.Though standard in such situations, the drug test Chris Brown was originally ordered to take was also withdrawn.
Brown got into quite an altercation with the man , supposedly saying: “I’m not down with that gay s**t, I’m into boxing,” and then punched him in the nose. The fight allegedly started when the man and his cohort were photobombing Chris who was posing with two girls for a private picture. Other sources say that the alleged victim was actually trying to force his way onto Chris Browns’ tour bus and Chris was only trying to prevent him from getting onto the bus.
Chris Brown, who has been in custody since the incident, was also released without bail. Brown’s lawyer released the following statement:
“Christopher Brown committed no crime, we understand that his security acted to protect Mr. Brown and his property, as he is authorized to do under District of Columbia law. We are confident that Mr. Brown will be exonerated of any wrongdoing.”
Chris Brown returns to court for this issue November 24th.
What do you think, is Chris Brown innocent in this case or is this just another of his infamous brawls? At least he didn’t punch a woman this time…
