Jonas Brothers Call It Quits, ‘It’s Over, For Now’

The teen pop band, the Jonas Brothers, are calling it quits, saying, “its over, for now.”

Three weeks ago, the group made up of Kevin, Nick, and Joe Jonas announced they were canceling their US tour, describing the reason as “a deep drift in the band.”

People Magazine reports the boys confirm they have decided to part ways, for a while at least.

“It’s over for now,” Kevin Jonas says.

“It’s really hard to say ‘forever,’ ” says Nick. “We’re closing a chapter, for sure.”

“It was a unanimous decision,” says Joe.

“I was feeling kind of trapped,” Nick Jonas said. “I needed to share my heart with my brothers.”

The Jonas Brothers decided to take the next step after a meeting on October 3, during which Nick admitted to his brothers he was unsure of what the future held for the group and had serious concerns.

As reported by The Inquisitr earlier in October, the boys canceled the US tour only two days before it was to kick off, citing creative differences.

The site reported the decision came after a particularly heated argument.

From information posted online, the rift was about what the band should sound like going forward, as the Jonas Brothers Kevin, 25, Joe, 24, and Nick, 21 grow past their teen years.

The guys developed their interest in music at a young age and the family used to spend a lot of time singing.

They moved from family performances to appearances in television ads for Burger King, Clorox, and Lego.

After successful Broadway appearances in two high profile plays, Beauty And The Beast and Les Miserables, Nick Jonas released a solo album in 2004 and later on asked his brothers to join him, thus creating the boy band.

The Jonas Brothers got their first record contract with Columbia and then moved to Hollywood Records, owned by Disney, which was instrumental in launching their career via the Disney Channel and Radio Disney.

Some fans are expressing their disappointment over the break-up on Twitter:

The Jonas Brothers’ followers are clearly upset about the boys calling it quits. The band will be making an appearance on GMA Wednesday morning.
