Verizon Attack! Company Takes 12.7% Of iPhone Market
Mobile ad network Chitika on Tuesday released an interesting statistic, the Verizon iPhone has taken over 12.7% of the U.S. market for iPhone sales.
Data was collected by using a 24-hour rolling period in which Chitika software collected iPhone web usage from each carrier to determine overall Smartphone use based on each company’s iPhone user customer base.
In response to the prediction AT&T wireless executive Ralph de la Vegas says that if correct those numbers are “within our expectations.”
While Verizon iPhone 4 sales have been slower than expected, company executive Dan Mead says that the carriers extremely high level of pre-ordered devices led to the sales slow down and that they are very happy with sales to date, including the pre-order company record set by Apple’s devices.
Only time will tell if Verizon’s network will draw in more iPhone users, but numbers given AT&T’s huge head start are not too bad at all.
