“I don’t know where that picture is, but I haven’t been home yet. I’ve been in New Mexico making a picture called ‘The Reach’ for the last five weeks, so, while I look forward to getting home, that wasn’t me. Must’ve been a lookalike.”
Their marriage issues allegedly are tied to their health problems. Michael Douglas faced down cancer recently and Catherine Zeta Jones is being treated for bipolar disorder, with one friend saying she was heading toward a mental health crisis.
They both continue to wear wedding bands even as they appear in events separate from each other. Michael Douglas told Jay Leno recently that there’s plenty of hope left in their relationship:
“I’ve been away for a while, but everything should hopefully be on the up-and-up. Sometimes people take a little bit of a break, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that’s the end. So I’m very hopeful.”
