Over the years we have heard little bits of Angelina Jolie’s years before she struck gold with HBO’s Gia and later on Girl Interrupted . Jolie has been incredibly open about her self-destructive teen years, and unhealthy relationships she encountered at a young age. Now it appears that Jolie is going to tell the whole story about her life in an autobiography.
It’s being reported that three publishing companies are in a bidding war to get the distributing writes to Angelina Jolie’s story. According to a source Jolie, a 38-year-old actress turned UN ambassador, is ready to reveal everything in her memoir. “She has always wanted to do this and believes the time is now right.”
This isn’t Angelina Jolie’s first foray into writing. Earlier in the year Jolie wrote a touching yet controversial essay on her double mastectomy. The friend of Jolie’s adds:
“She has never known such peace and fulfillment in her life. There are demons in her past but she is in a place mentally and spiritually where she feels comfortable enough to write about them honestly and put them in context.”
We can’t imagine what Angelina Jolie will hold back given her early years of giving extremely candid interviews on what it was like to grow up as Jon Voight’s daughter. However, back then the now mother of six didn’t have children to consider. According to a source, Jolie has considered her children when writing about some skeletons in her closet.
The book’s context will talk very honestly about her life, with the source adding, “No issues – apart from those that might damage her children’s privacy – will be taboo.”
Currently there’s a heavy bidding war going on for Angelina Jolie’s memoir . So far the bidding war has already hit a $50 million dollar bid. If Angelina Jolie signs on the dotted line, this deal will be the most expensive book deal made. As it stands it’s three times the advance that Hillary Clinton received for her autobiography.
Putting stock in Angelina’s writings isn’t too surprising as Jolie is still one of the most sought out figures in Hollywood, even after she decided to scale down her projects to focus on family life, and her charity work.
Hopefully we’ll get a few amusing tidbits on what it was like to be married to Billy Bob Thorton.
