Orlando Bloom Talks Kissing ‘Romeo And Juliet’ Co-Star Condola Rashad
Orlando Bloom is talking about another woman already? In the wake of the announcement that he and Miranda Kerr are splitting up, he is shedding details about kissing Romeo and Juliet co-star Condola Rashad.
The Broadway production features the handsome British actor and the 26-year-old Rashad (Steel Magnolias, Smash) as the iconic pair of young lovers created by the imagination of William Shakespeare.
Bloom is promoting the play and during an appearance on “Live With Kelly And Michael”, he didn’t discuss the recently announced break-up from his wife of three years, instead he explained how the kissing with Rashad works.
“We sometimes get applause after our first kiss because it just goes on. Sometimes I’m like, I’m not letting go,” Bloom said, as reported by the New York Post.
Condola Rashad, a Tony winning performer, is the daughter of Phylicia Rashad and Ahmad Rashad.
Orlando Bloom said that he and Rashad have become close while working on the play and often get together after the show and go for drinks at “different places.”
If Orlando Bloom seems enthusiastic about Rashad, it goes both ways. Earlier this month she told Newsday:
“What’s funny is that we didn’t have to force it. We had a connection from the minute we met… a sense of comfort with each other. Which was cool. We both loved the work. And he’s such a great guy.”
Condola Rashad says the chemistry between her and Orlando Bloom was there from the start:
“We didn’t have to work too hard at it. We hang out sometimes afterward, but we’ve built the relationship we have just by being around each other…. We have a lot of fun and trust between the two of us.”
The actress told Broadway.com about Orlando Bloom, “He’s a heartthrob, that one!”
Victoria Secret supermodel Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom officially announced their separation of Thursday, in a statement that read in part they were “amicably separated for the past few months.”
The British actor’s appearance in the “Live With Kelly and Michael” show was prerecorded so no mention of the separation was made at the time. Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have a two-year-old child, Flynn.
