Ozzie Guillen Rumors Claim He Might Manage The Chicago Cubs, Detroit Tigers Unlikely
Ozzie Guillen rumors are claiming he is considering managing either the Chicago Cubs or the Detroit Tigers. Good thing the Detroit Lions are in the NFL, or Ozzie Guillen might want to mange them as well!
As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Ozzie Guillen was fired by the Miami Marlins and then replaced with Mike Redmond.
Before a recent baseball game Ozzie Guillen was asked questions via Twitter. One of the fans asked in Spanish whether it was true the Detroit Tigers were considering Ozzie Guillen for manager. His translated response:
“My dream would be to manage the best, Miguel Cabrera.”
Tigers president and general manager Dave Dombrowski hasn’t made an offer to Ozzie Guillen just yet. But MLB Network analyst Joey Cora believes Ozzie Guilen “would be a good hire there” and that the Tigers “would love” having him as a manager.
In the past, Ozzie Guillen managed the Chicago White Sox from 2004 to 2011, which included winning the 2005 World Series. And it seems Ozzie Guillen would prefer to be back at the Cubs mostly because of the team’s location:
“I just make it very clear, if they want me as a coach, the only team I will coach is the Cubs. The reason is, I live there. I don’t have to move my family in and out. As (for) a manager opening, if anyone is interested in me, at least give me an opportunity to express myself.”
Do you think Ozzie Guillen should manage the Chicago Cubs, the Detroit Tigers, or some other team?
