No Tip For Gay Waiter: ‘Queers Do Not Share In The Wealth Of GOD’

Overland Park, KS – A pair or religious diners thanked their waiter for his great service, but there was just one problem preventing them from leaving the tip he deserved: He’s gay.

KMBC 9 News reports that the Carrabba’s Italian Grill waiter, who has refused to give his name or go on camera, discovered the rude message when he went to pick up the check. Instead of a tip, he found a back-handed, spiteful message from the diners.

The message, written on the back of the bill, said:

“Thank you for your service, it was excellent. That being said, we cannot in good conscience tip you, for your homosexual lifestyle is an affront to GOD. Queers do not share in the wealth of GOD, and you will not share in ours. We hope you will see the tip your queer choices made you lose out on, and plan accordingly. It is never too late for GOD’s love, but none shall be spared for queers. May GOD have mercy on you.”

Carrabba’s has actually backed the server up, and said that they will not tolerate discrimination from their employees or guests. Locals sides with the waiter, as well.

“It’s honestly despicable. It’s not different than saying I’m not tipping you because you’re black, or a Jew, or anything like that,” said one. “In this day and age, being gay, it’s not really any cause for a fuss.”

Friends of the server have taken to social media to tell his story, and are planning to show up to the restaurant Friday night at 6:30PM to support him.

For his part, the server acted quite a bit more Christian than his non-tippers:

“The offers to help pay me back are much appreciated, but not at all needed. I’d prefer to let my work ethic and my service do the talking, nothing else,” he said in a statement.
