Pauly D In Custody Battle Over Baby Daughter [Report]

Pauly D is reportedly already at odds with the mother of his firstborn child.

According to TMZ, the 33-year-old does not believe the mother is a fit parent, even pointing out that she once worked at Hooters. He was also concerned because the mother is 25 years old and has another child.

The mother, identified only as Amanda, and Pauly D — real name Paul DelVecchio — have both filed court documents, with the former Jersey Shore star asking for custody of the baby girl. However, sources said Pauly D has not seen his daughter, who was born in May.

The mother is requesting child support, and Pauly D has said he is willing to take financially responsibility of the child.

The Providence-born DJ said Tuesday he is “very excited” to be a father and “has always wanted kids.” While he and the mother didn’t have a relationship prior to the baby’s birth, Pauly D “is hoping to develop a relationship” with her, according to E!.

“[He] wasn’t exactly planning for it to happen this way,” a source said, “but God works in mysterious ways.”

Pauly D’s Jersey Shore co-stars congratulated him on the birth of his daughter after he broke the news.

“I’m so happy for Pauly,” Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi told E!. “Definitely a shock to all of us, but we know Pauly the best and he’s going to be an amazing father. He’s so loving and caring. I can’t wait for Lorenzo and her to play!”

Jennifer “JWoww” Farley told the website, “Holy s**t I just heard! I’m so f**king happy for him I just texted him. Crying! He’s going to be the best dad ever!”

Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola also extended her congratulations to her former cast mate.

“I couldn’t be more happy for Pauly,” she said. “He is going to be such a wonderful dad! This new little girl is so lucky to have the coolest father around!”
