Two of the best players on Earth will square off one more time when Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees visit Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Angels for the second of a three-game series.

The two leading AL MVP candidates were at their best in the first game of the series, with Judge raking his 50th homer of the season and Ohtani hitting the game-winning homer as well. So, who'll get the last laugh in the encore? Let's break it down!

Yankees Are Ice Cold

The Yankees' historical start of the season is a thing of the past. The explosive offensive team and their dominant pitching seem long gone and they've been one of the worst teams in the Majors over the past month or so.

Aaron Boone's team has gone ice cold and doesn't look like the World Series lock it seemed during the first third of the season. However, they still have plenty of talent and enough time to turn things around.

The Los Angeles Angels are going through yet another disappointing campaign. Fortunately, this might as well be the last season under Arte Moreno's command, as the team is reportedly up for sale.

Injuries, inconsistency, and tough luck derailed another promising season for a team that features two of the best, most dynamic players in all of baseball. Now, Ohtani's future is up in the air and will be a point of emphasis in the offseason.

Key Injuries, Stats, And Trends

The New York Yankees will be without Marwin Gonzalez, Aroldis Chapman, Harrison Bader, Zack Britton, and Matt Carpenter for this game. The Los Angeles Angels, on the other hand, will be without Anthony Rendon, Jared Walsh, Chris Rodriguez, Archie Bradley, and Mickey Moniak.

When it comes to trends, it's worth noting that the Yankees are 60-27 in their last 87 during game 2 of a series, and 37-18 in their last 55 vs. a team with a losing record. Also, they're 4-1 in the last five meetings vs. the Angels.

Picks For Yankees At Angels

The Yankees will trust Jameson Taillon to get the win tonight. He leads the team with a 12-4 record and 3.89 ERA and dominated the Angels the last time he saw them, throwing eight innings of one-run ball. Also, he's dominated Trout (0-3) and has yet to allow more than three runs in his past four starts.

The Angels will counter with Mike Mayers, who's 1-0 with a 9.00 ERA against the Yankees but has only gone three innings in his career against them, so we expect the Bronx Bombers offense to be better tonight and even up the series with a much-needed win.
