Anti-Hillary Clinton Buttons Already A Thing, Show Little Reserve [Photo]
Nobody knows whether Hillary Clinton is going to run for president in 2016 (except, perhaps, Hillary Clinton), but the GOP is already acting like she’s the candidate to beat. A photo of some anti-Hillary Clinton buttons (supposedly found at a California GOP convention) is making the rounds online today thanks to their rather… direct… criticisms of the former Secretary of State.
The San Francisco Chronicle’s Carla Marinucci tweeted an image of the buttons from a California Republican Party convention on Saturday. The buttons boast a highly offensive slogan, which reads: “2 Fat Thighs, 2 Small Breasts… Left Wing.”
The anti-Hillary Clinton buttons originally appeared outside of a VIP reception area. Roughly an hour after her tweet was posted, Marinucci said that the buttons had been removed. She also said that once they were made aware, some of the GOP officials at the event personally offered to remove the offensive buttons. Additionally, she reported that none of the delegates she ran into were wearing the buttons.
The presence of the buttons was considered odd, especially since the point of the three-day convention was to recruit new Republican voters, specifically women, according to the AP. Anyone willing to put up for a table at the convention could have displayed the buttons, and they’re not necessarily reflective of a GOP position, but that’s sort of the point.
The SF Gate reported that the convention laid bare tensions and rifts within the GOP that have plagued that party platform since the last election cycle. The party’s hopes for the next couple of elections seem to be balanced on a tightrope tug-of-war between moderate (so-called RINO) Republicans and the fringier, loosely-organized Tea Party.

These anti-Hillary Clinton buttons just might be a sign of things to come should she run, but we can’t be the only ones hoping that this is the last we see of them.
