Keira Knightley Says Tim Bevan Is The ‘Real Mr. Darcy’

Keira Knightley had some kind words for British producer Tim Bevan at the Zurich Film Festival this week.

Bevan was honored at the festival with the lifetime achievement award and Knightley, who starred in the Bevan-produced movie Pride And Prejudice, compared the veteran producer to the wonderful Mr. Darcy.

Knightley said: “You are the one and only, the real Mr. Darcy.”

The Oscar nominated actress said that she was initially intimidated by Bevan on the set of Pride And Prejudice but that fear past as soon as she saw him laugh.

Keira added: “I remember when we, all the Bennet girls, were working on the film and we were all scared of you because you were so gruff. Then, one day we saw you giggle. From that moment on, we all fancied you because we realized, you are the real Mr. Darcy. So here’s to the one and only, the real Mr. Darcy.”

Bevan has produced hundreds of movies of the years, including The Big Lebowski, Hot Fuzz, The Italian Job and Ned Kelly. He’s also produced a few movies starring Keira Knightly including Pride And Prejudice and Love Actually.

Knightly isn’t quite at the 100 movie mark but her long list of movies continues to grow. The actress, who earned her Oscar nomination for Pride And Prejudice, is currently working on the new Tom Clancy movie Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit.
