It was less than a month after she’d been sprung from rehab that Lindsay Lohan landed back in trouble with the court, and it seems hopes the actress had for a comeback following her myriad legal troubles have been dashed for good this time.
TMZ reports that initial reports that Lohan had stolen a $2,500 necklace from a Los Angeles boutique have resulted in felony grand theft charges. Lohan is set to be arraigned in Airport Court in Los Angeles tomorrow at 1:30 pm local time, and must be present for the arraignment. If convicted of a felony in the case, Lohan could be sentenced to up to three years in prison on the count.
X17 quoted an unnamed source who says the theft allegations stem from a simple misunderstanding, and that Lindsay believed she had permission to borrow the necklace:
“She didn’t STEAL the necklace, she borrowed it. It was understood that she was allowed to wear the necklace for a certain period of time and return it — that was always the deal. She didn’t steal anything and she returned it immediately when they asked for it back.”
?After Lohan was tipped off to the search warrant, a friend of the actress returned the bauble- not to the shop, but to the LAPD.
