‘Real Housewife’ Melissa Gorga Writes Book, Endorses Rape And Subjugation
Oh my God, have you seen Real Housewife Melissa Gorga’s new book and the terrifying Jezebel piece that actually tells you what’s in it?
Basically, Melissa Gorga’s marriage advice is the absolute worst, and the quotes from this book — titled Love Italian Style — sent literal chills up our literal collective spines. Literally.
Let me first say of Melissa Gorga’s advice that I too am Italian-American, raised within the culture common in the New York/New Jersey area, where I’ve lived all my life. My father is half Sicilian, half Neopolitano… and I’d hate to see what remained of any man who treated me or my sister like Joe treats Melissa by her own description. It’s perhaps the only thought scarier than what I just read.
The quotes from Gorga’s advice are coming from Jez here, but it appears this gem is from Joe himself. And while many happy couples have fun with playful consent dynamics in the bedroom, he takes it a step further, when it appears he says:
“Men, I know you think your woman isn’t the type who wants to be taken. But trust me, she is. Every girl wants to get her hair pulled once in a while. If your wife says ‘no,’ turn her around, and rip her clothes off. She wants to be dominated… Women don’t realize how easy men are. Just give us what we want.”
Gorga herself also acknowledges that love or kindness isn’t free, and if the service contracted for within a marriage isn’t rendered, only one person is really at fault when your hubby gets a comare — she adds:
“The way I see it, if a wife is a puttana, her husband will never feel the urge to go outside the marriage to actual whores, or strip clubs. He won’t hit on women in bars, or drool over his friend’s girlfriends or the secretary. He’ll rush home to his wife, who makes sure he’ll have a good time (the best time) in the comfort of his own home.”
Off the subject of coerced sex, the Gorgas also share some invaluable advice on raising babies, from Joe’s perspective:
“I don’t feed babies, or change the diapers. My father never wiped my ass, and I don’t wipe my babies’ either.”
You can read the full horrifying set of Melissa Gorga quotes here, or you could for some insane reason decide to purchase Love Italian Style, since someone actually published it and released this kind of rapey talk on America on purpose. (Over on Amazon, it has two out of five stars.)
