‘Batman: Arkham Origins’ City Size To Be Double That Of ‘Arkham City’
Batman: Arkham Origins‘ city size will be double that of its predecessor.
The latest in the major console versions of the Arkham series is promising to be a big one. Batman: Arkham Origins goes back in time to before Batman was at odds with most of the inmates of Arkham Asylum, and gives us a storyline where a cocky young crime fighter will face his greatest enemy for the first time. Considering the time of year chosen for the setting, what Batman is getting for Christmas is a bigger can of you know what.
The Black Mask has placed a million dollar bounty on Batman’s head, and all of the biggest assassins are out to collect it, meaning that Batman is going to need to step up his game. The Joker, Bane, Deathstroke, Copperhead, Firefly, Penguin, Mad Hatter, and Anarky are all in on the fun this time around, all wanting their share of the money.
Batman: Arkham Origins‘ city size will make previous games look like training, as it is now spit into two maps, each as big as Arkham City. Add to this the fact that Gotham City will now be a multilevel arena, adding height to the playground you were used to, and Batman is certainly going to be one busy caped crusader. North Gotham and South Gotham are now connected by a bridge, which we’re sure will become part of a major plot point along the way.
One of the most important aspects of the Arkham series has always been the boss fights, each of which has always been in settings specifically created for the villain you’re fighting. While some were closed in, others took place on electrified floors, and the first main boss fight against the Joker was just plain weird. We can expect some epic battles once again, since there is more ground to cover in every way.
The stakes will most certainly be raised as the city size for Batman: Arkham Origins has been made even larger.
