Dehumidifier Recall Due To 46 Fires, $2 Million Property Damage

A massive emergency dehumidifier recall was issued today for more than 2 million faulty dehumidifiers.

The products recalled are made by Gree Electrical Appliances with the following brand names: Danby, De’Longhi, Fedders, Fellini, Frigidaire, Gree, Kenmore, Norpole, Premiere, Seabreeze, SoleusAir, and SuperClima.

Some of the dehumidifiers are so unsafe that they have caused over 46 fires and in excess of $2.15 million in damage to property. Fortunately there have been no reported injuries or loss of human life from the devices.

The Dehums were sold throughout North America between January 2005 and August 2013 from retailers including Home Depot and Kmart.
