Charlie Hunnam And Dakota Johnson Cast In Fifty Shades Of Grey Film
Fans of Fifty Shades of Grey have been waiting on the edge of their seats while waiting to find out who would be cast in the two lead roles for the movie adaptation.
On Monday, author E L James announced via Twitter that Dakota Johnson will be playing the role of Anastasia Steele and less than an hour later, announced that Charlie Hunnam will be playing the role of Christian Grey.
The movie adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey, directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, is set to hit theaters on August 1 of next year according to Metro.
Johnson, the daughter of actors Don Johnson and Melaine Griffith, is best known for her work on the short-lived Fox sitcom Ben & Kate. According to Huffington Post, she also had memorable supporting roles in The Social Network and The Five-Year Engagement.
Hunnam is best known for his role on the hit show Sons of Anarchy, as Jackson “Jax” Teller, though he also played Raleigh Becket in this summer’s sci-fi adventure Pacific Rim according to People.
The Inquisitr recently reported on the possible candidates for these two roles. At the time, the studio has shown interest in four actresses in the last few weeks: Alicia Vikander, Imogen Poots, Shailene Woodley, and Dakota Johnson.
Actors at the time that had been considered by the studio had included Hunnam along with Christian Cooke (Magic City) and Theo James(Divergent).
