Fergie And Josh Duhamel Welcome Baby Boy
Fergie and Josh Duhamel welcomed a baby boy Thursday afternoon.
Axl Jack Duhamel was born via scheduled C-section. The couple’s rep said the baby was born at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles and weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces.
Fergie — who recently changed her name from Stacy Ferguson to Fergie Duhamel — announced her pregnancy on Twitter in February, writing, “Josh & Me & BABY makes three!!!”
Josh Duhamel said the reality of his wife’s pregnancy set in when he saw her first ultrasound.
“It’s very exciting … [It’s] unlike anything you’ve ever seen. You’re like, ‘Wow, it’s mine,'” he said in February.
Fergie said her husband wanted to start a family after their first date.
“He’s going to be an amazing father,” she said. “He’s got natural parenting instincts.”
Even though Fergie and Duhamel have been married for almost five years, the former Black Eyed Peas singer only recently got around to changing her name. She said she changed her legal name to her stage name because no one ever calls her Stacy. Duhamel said he was touched by his wife’s legal name change and called it “sweet.”
Duhamel also said that he was planning to take some time off from acting in order to help Fergie out with the baby.
“I plan on taking as much time as I can off just before and as much time as possible after. I can’t imagine having a kid and then not being able to be there, that would just drive me crazy,” the 40-year-old said.
Duhamel said last month that he and the 38-year-old singer were ready for their baby, and that they had gotten a lot of advice about being first-time parents.
“Everyone is saying, ‘You better sleep now. You’re not going to get any when the baby is here.’ I feel we are ready for it and actually looking forward to that,” he said.
Congratulations to Fergie and Josh Duhamel on the birth of their son.
