Oscar Pistorius Will Be Charged With Killing His Girlfriend
South African authorities have announced that they have completed their investigation into the shooting death of Oscar Pistorius’ girlfriend.
They expect to serve Pistorius – also known as ‘Blade Runner’ – with an indictment early next week.
Police spokesman, Lt. Gen. Solomon Makgale told the Associated Press that investigators were convinced Pistorius has a charge to answer. They did not indicate whether the charge would be for murder or the lesser charge of manslaughter.
Given the fact that Pistorius has been out on bail since late February, and even resumed running, it seems unlikely that he will be facing the more serious charge.
The double-amputee, who competed for his country at the 2012 London Olympics, will be indicted for the shooting of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp at his home on February 14.
Oscar Pistorius has always maintained that the shooting of Steenkamp in the early morning hours, was a mistake; He thought that she was intruder.

But other reports have suggested that the couple may have been arguing. Pistorius could face 25 years to life in prison if convicted of premeditated murder.
Oscar Pistorious is due to appear in court on Monday in Pretoria. Officials could serve an indictment and set a trial date at that time.
